Single-User Limitations

Modern computer operating systems (OS) and computer aided applications, at their core kernel level architectures, are designed for single users. This single core deficiency limits the vision of global collaborative product engineering, because product models must be evolved by one user at a time.

Multi-User Vision

The vision of the BYU CADLab is to investigate and, with the assistance of member companies, modify single user CAx architectures to enhance process concurrency for multi-user collaboration, thus reducing product development cycle times and reducing energy and material waste.
